10-Hour OSHA – General Construction Safety

Course Description:

The 10-Hour OSHA General Construction Safety Course is a nationally approved program created by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) intended to equip entry-level workers with necessary information regarding jobsite hazards, employee rights, employer obligations, and preventing work-related injury and death.

This training is ideal for those in the construction industry, such as but not limited to laborers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and equipment operators. If you are new to the industry or must satisfy a jobsite compliance requirement, this course provides you with effective tools for staying safe and informed on the job.

Upon completion, participants will be issued the official OSHA 10-Hour Wallet Card by the U.S. Department of Labor, widely recognized by employers, unions, and construction sites in the United States.

Major Learning Objectives:

• Course completers will:
• Know the purpose, history, and organization of OSHA and how it relates to their job.
• Identify and eliminate the top four jobsite dangers: falls, struck-by, caught-in/between, and electrocution.
• Learn appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Recognize hazardous materials and comprehend Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) regulations.
• Be aware of workers’ rights and procedures for reporting hazards.
• Gain hazard awareness through real-world examples, case studies, and group discussion.

• Health Hazards in Construction
• Silica dust, asbestos, noise exposure
• Material Handling and Ergonomics
